After the park, head to the Old Mill Tearoom, which is located within the Old Mill Antiques shop. This is a treasure trove of items, with several floors to explore. The cafe itself is great for kids, as it has a small play area within the cafe area with some toys, games and a chalk board. The menu is family friendly & reasonably priced too. After you've enjoyed some lunch, a cake or snack here, then you can walk over the bridge and take the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway up to the High Town. The Bridgnorth Cliff Railway is England’s Oldest and Steepest Inland Electric Funicular Railway and the kids will love the ride up the hill to the High Town. Once you get to the High Town, there's lots of shops, cafes and pubs here to enjoy including the fantastic - Alley Kats Toy Shop. After a little retail therapy, head to the Bridgnorth Castle, founded in 1101 by Robert de Belleme, the son of the French Earl, Roger de Montgomery, who succeeded his father to become the Earl of Shrewsbury. Here you'll discover some beautiful gardens to wander around and there's usually a tea/coffee van there too if you're in need of a cuppa and a sit down!

Just 1.2 miles east of Bridgnorth, lies the Stanmore Country Park. With 100 acres to explore there's plenty of walks here and it's a really safe and easy place to take the kids out on their bikes, with plenty of flat trails. Perfect for younger families! The Stanmore Country Park website says:

"A real bonus of the site is that it is flat, and the FOS have worked hard with Shropshire County Council to secure grants to create paths that are suitable for individuals with impaired mobility, including providing wheelchair access to picnic benches.  Its flat surface and lack of traffic makes it a popular destination for families encouraging children to ride bikes."
